Kaivalyapada sutra 9-12

Yogasutra Kaivalyapada sutra 9-12
Sri Sadgurubhyoh Namah
9.jati desha kala vyavahitanam api anantaryam smriti samskarayoh eka rupatvat
Memory and habit patterns are similar in appearance. Unbroken by time, type of birth, place of birth, these habbit patterns return to haunt the Jiva.

10. tasam anaditvam cha ashisah nityatvat
Will to live and have a life is beginningless, hence the Karma is also beginningless.

11.
hetu phala ashraya alambana samgrihitatvat esam abhave tad abhavah
The karma is dependent on cause and effect principle. What is there in memory/chitta and habbit patterns (samskara), makes one react to a situation in a particular manner. When habbit patterns are removed, the accumulation of karma also is removed.

12.
atita anagatam svarupatah asti adhva bhedat dharmanam
The past impressions and future projections are present in present. Their order makes them appear as past and future. Mind contains all the impressions, samskara, characteristics in NOW, but appear as arranged in time.
